It was built in 1859, shortly after the town's establishment, this elegant Edwardian guesthouse boasts a rich history and a well-earned reputation for personal service and attention to detail.
The Lodge offers a choice of thoughtfully appointed rooms, including 10 Classic Rooms, 2 Garden Suites, 1 Orchard Suite and modern apartments with two-bedrooms, perfect for both overnight stays and longer getaways and for families. Directions
- From Cape Town International Airport:
- Exit the airport. Upon leaving the airport, merge onto the N2 highway heading east toward Somerset West.
- Transition to the R300. After approximately 10 kilometres, take exit 22A to merge onto the R300 toward Bellville.
- Merge onto the N1. Continue on the R300 for about 15 kilometers, then take the exit onto the N1 highway toward Paarl/Worcester
- Proceed to Worcester. Stay on the N1 for approximately 85 kilometres until you reach Worcester.
- Take the R60 toward Robertson. In Worcester, follow signs for the R60 toward Robertson and Ashton.
- Continue through Robertson and Ashton to Montagu. Stay on the R60, passing through Robertson and Ashton, until you arrive in Montagu.
- Arriving in Montagu. As you enter Montagu, take the third left turn onto Church Street.
- Reach Mimosa Lodge. Proceed along Church Street; Mimosa Lodge will be on your left, near a prominent white church.
- From Stellenbosch via Franschhoek:
- Leave Stellenbosch towards Franschhoek via Helshoogte Pass/R310.
- Drive through Franschhoek and continue over Franschhoek Pass/R45.
- Continue on the R45 to Villiersdorp.
- Take the R43 from Villiersdorp to Worcester.
- Join the R60 and drive through Robertson, Ashton, and Montagu.
- Arrive at Mimosa Lodge in Church Street, Montagu.
- From Cape Town via Sir Lowry's Pass/N2 Route:
- Take the N2 from Cape Town International Airport; it's easier to access than the N1.
- Continue past Somerset West/bypass the town.
- Drive over Sir Lowry's Pass into Elgin/Grabouw.
- Cross Houw Hoek Pass and take the Caledon turn-off.
- Continue through Caledon and Riviersonderend.
- At Stormsvlei, turn left towards Bonnievale.
- Follow the road until it joins the route from Swellendam, then turn left.
- At the next T-junction, turn right to Montagu.
- Continue via Ashton to Mimosa Lodge in Church Street, Montagu.
- Route to Montagu from Port Elizabeth and Garden Route
- Option 1: Fastest & Scenic Route via Route 62
- Take the N2 from Port Elizabeth, passing Jeffrey’s Bay and Plettenberg Bay.
- Continue via the Toll Road (faster) or Nature’s Valley (scenic) to Knysna, Wilderness, and George.
- Take the N12 over Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn.
- Follow Route 62 through Calitzdorp, Ladismith, and Barrydale to Montagu.
- In Montagu, take the 5th road/Church Street on the right.
- Mimosa Lodge is located near the big white church, on the left-hand side.
- Option 2: Via N2 and Swellendam
- Take the N2 from Wilderness via Mossel Bay, Albertinia, Riversdale, and Heidelberg.
- At Swellendam, turn off onto the R60 toward Ashton and Montagu.
- Take the 3rd road to the left / Church Street.
- Mimosa Lodge is located towards the top of the road on the left.
- Option 3: Scenic Route via Tradouw Pass
- On the N2, turn off at Heidelberg, following signs to Suurbraak.
- Drive through Barrydale via the Tradouw Pass, one of the most scenic passes in the region.
- Rejoin Route 62 at Barrydale, continuing to Montagu.
- Take the 5th road to the right / Church Street.
- Mimosa Lodge is located on the left-hand side.
- Route to Montagu from N1 North /Gauteng Direction
- Follow the N1 south, passing through Beaufort West, Laingsburg, and Touws River.
- About 20 km after Touws River, take the R318 turn-off to the left.
- Drive through the Koo Valley and over Burgers Pass to Montagu.
- In Montagu, follow the main road/Bath Street.
- When you reach the big white church, turn left into Church Street.
- Mimosa Lodge is on the right-hand side.
