Located on the banks of the Oliphants River, Southern Sands Eco Lodge offers tented accommodations within the Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve in Hoedspruit. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool. For our smaller guests there is a dedicated shallow splash pool.
Set apart to offer privacy, these well appointed tents each have an private bathroom with an outdoor shower, a fire pit and a fully equipped outdoor kitchenette. They each have a furnished deck area overlooking the river.
Guests at Southern Sands Eco Lodge can enjoy optional breakfast at an additional fee. On advance request, the lodge can also provide meal options.

The reserve is home to a range of plains game, including giraffe, wildebeest and zebra. Cycling is possible in the surroundings, while the Orpen Gate to the Kruger National Park is about 90km away.
Hoedspruit is 35km from Southern Sands Eco Lodge, and the nearest airport is Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, 48km away.
Directions
- On the R527 you will see signposts for Liverpool and Ndlovumzi Private Nature Reserve. Take this turn off which takes you onto our gravel access road.
- You will now be on a gravel road for approximately 10KM.
- Stay on this Gravel road until you reach the entrance gate for Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve, You will need to pay a once off R170 reserve fee (cash or card)
- From the entrance, turn left & continue along this road for 200-300 meters until you see the sign for Number 54.

- Stay on this Gravel road until you reach the entrance gate for Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve, You will need to pay a once off R170 reserve fee (cash or card)
- From the entrance, turn left & continue along this road for 200-300 meters until you see the sign for Number 54.
- Turn left onto our road & go straight, then over the crossroad & downhill to the bottom of our road until you get to a large double gate. Please enter the gate and follow the main path to our house.
Cancellation Policy
If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the booking total.
Conditions
- Pets are not allowed.
- Strictly no loud music or other noise.
- Please note that a R170 compulsory park fee per stay is applicable and excluded from the rates. This amount is payable in cash/card at the entrance gate.
- Please note, the property is accessible via a 10km gravel road.
