Rhino River Lodge is an intimate and exclusive game reserve located on the banks of the Msunduze River. It is within the Manyoni Private Reserve, one of the best wildlife reserves KwaZulu-Natal.
We are proud to be home to a growing population of the rare and endangered Black Rhino.

Description
Our lodge offers guests comfortable and attractive accommodation. The log cabins are ideally suited to families and sleep up to 4 people. Each cabin features two bedrooms, a comfortable lounge, private verandah. The luxurious en-suite double units are set under a thatch roof with a private verandah overlooking the lodge grounds and river-bed below.
The lounge and dining room at Rhino River Lodge are set high on the banks of the Msunduze River lined with magnificent Sycamore Fig and Fever Trees. A favourite with all of our guests is spending time in our Boma enjoying an evening cocktail around the campfire, swapping stories of their adventures in the bush. These evenings are a magical part of every guest’s experience, taking in the smells of the campfire, the sounds of the African night, and the splendour of an unpolluted starry sky.
Our kitchen specializes in offering cuisine that features traditional South African flavours dishes and cooking styles and our wine list has been hand-picked to provide our guests with a selection of some of the finest affordable wines that South Africa has to offer.

Area Info
The reserve is composed of a wide variety of habitat types and is home to a large diversity of animal and plant life.
The Manyoni Private Game Reserve was initially established as a part of World Wildlife Fund's black rhino range expansion program.
A population of these endangered rhinos were introduced to the game reserve and have been thriving ever since.
At Rhino River Lodge we are frequently priviledged with sightings of black rhino on our game drives.

- We are 300ks from Durban. When traveling north on the N2 from Durban, approximately 27ks past the Hluhluwe Turnoff, turn left into the P450, opposite the Baobab Inn.

- We are 300ks from Durban. When traveling north on the N2 from Durban, approximately 27ks past the Hluhluwe Turnoff, turn left into the P450, opposite the Baobab Inn.
- When traveling south on the N2 from Pongola/Johannesburg, approximately 20ks past the turnoff to Mkuze, turn right into the P450 (MANYONI SOUTH GATE), opposite the Baobab Inn.
- Along the P450 you will see a brown sign pointing to "Rhino River". After travelling 5kms along the P450 you will see our main entrance (MANYONI SOUTH GATE) on the right. Follow the reserve road to the Lodge reception - about 5.2 kms. If you have any difficulties please contact us.

Cancellation Policy
- If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 60% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 45 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 60 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the booking total.

- Conservation levy for 2025: The Manyoni Private Game Reserve will levy a conservation levy to all guests entering the reserve. Charges as follows:

- Rates Exclude: Compulsory Manyoni Private Game Reserve Conservation Fee, All beverages, additional activities & personal purchases.
- Conservation levy for 2025: The Manyoni Private Game Reserve will levy a conservation levy to all guests entering the reserve. Charges as follows:
- R175 per adult per night and R90 per child under 12 years old.
- Rhino River Lodge will be collecting this levy on behalf of the reserve and adding it to your invoice for prepayment.

- Kindly be advised that children aged under 4 years of age are NOT permitted on the game drives and stay free of charge.
- Baby sitting services are available at an additional cost.

- For catering purposes, please advise any special dietary requirements timeously as certain foods might not be available unless by prior arrangement.
