self-contained Luxury Tents offers the perfect romantic getaway for couples who want to get all loved up.
Buffalo Drift has some NEW treasures for you to discover. ‘The Farm’ is a recently built facility across from Ruigtevlei farm, suited for groups of up to 26 people.
Off course we still have our Yzerfontein venues: Captains cabin and 18 First avenue.
Another stunning addition to our Buffalo drift group is Blombosch farm – 5km outside Yzerfontein – Blombosch has various cottages as well as the stunning Hideaway lodge – Sleeping 32pax.

- The Berg River which runs through the farm making a variety of water activities a possibility; refreshing swims, braving the rope swing, canoe day trips down the river and fishing off the banks.
- The farm also offers hiking and mountain bike routes as well as clay pigeon shooting.
- There are a number of wonderful restaurants and wine farms in the Riebeek Valley and Tulbagh areas - make sure you visit a few and try them out!

Located in the Breede River Valley, Buffalo Drift is situated on Ruigtevlei Farm, near Tulbagh.
This working farm on the banks of the lush Berg River offers a variety of accommodation to suit your needs.
Directions
- For Buffalo drift farm (Fort, River cottage and tents): Take the N1, out of Cape Town, heading in the direction of Paarl.
- Take the Stellenbosch/ Wellington offramp, turn left in the direction of Wellington (R44).
- Drive straight with the R44 into Wellington. At the first traffic light in Wellington turn left, sign reads R44 Porterville.
- Drive straight for approximately 45km, passing Hermon. You will then get a turn-off to the left, sign reads R44 Gouda/ Porterville.
- Turn left and drive for approximately 11km heading in the direction of Porterville.
- You will see the Buffalo Drift sign board on the left hand side of the road, come through the gates and follow the signs to the Lodge Office.
- This drive should take no longer than 1 hr and 10 min.
- For Yzerfontein (Captains cabin, First avenue, Blombosch farm):
- Take R27 out of Cape town, take Yzerfontein turn off and contact Beverley for further info.
Cancellation Policy
- If cancelling 6 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 15 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
Conditions
Note: To ensure accurate pricing for your chosen venue, please be aware that each venue has a base rate for a specified number of guests. If your guest count is less than the base rate for the selected venue, you will be provided with a revised quote, starting at the base rate for that specific venue.
Full payment needs to be made 14 days before check in.
ADDITIONAL CLEANING FEES ARE CHARGED if the property is left untidy.
EXTRA CLEANING SERVICES CAN BE ARRANGED AT AN EXTRA CHARGE.
R500 refundable breakage deposit will be charged with each booking.
