Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape is a working boutique wine and olive farm situated in the heart of Tulbagh's Valley of Abundance. Located just 90 minutes from Cape Town, the farm is an idyllic setting in which to experience a romantic getaway or family vacation.
The luxury self-catering cottages showcase interiors that reflect a blend of rustic charm and modern sophistication, perfectly complimenting the old-world beauty of Tulbagh. Each cottage offers majestic mountain views and features a kitchenette, smart TV, complimentary Wi-Fi and an open-plan en-suite bathroom with a rain shower and large bathtub.
Air conditioning, a remote-controlled fan, and a cosy outdoor fireplace ensure total comfort in hot summers and cold winters. A battery backup system ensures our cottages have light during load shedding and unexpected power outages.
Outside, a private patio with a braai facility and wood fired hot tub provides a relaxing vantage point from which to enjoy the sunset over the mountains, take in the sounds of the prolific birdlife, or gaze at the canopy of stars.
Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape also offers wine tasting, an on-site restaurant, a breakfast basket which is R350 per couple includes Fruit, yogurt, muesli, ciabatta, ham, quiche, jam, milk and juice.
We also offer a secluded guest pool area with pergolas and pool loungers, and a children’s playground. An array of activities can be enjoyed on-site or in the surrounding area, including picnics, wine tasting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and more.

Located in the southern hemisphere, Tulbagh has a Mediterranean climate and undergoes four distinct seasons, with summer spanning from December to February and winter from June to August. The summer season in Tulbagh features golden wheat fields and is characterized by hot, dry weather for which sunscreen and hats are recommended. As autumn arrives, the surrounding vineyards transform into a captivating palette of gold and rust as the weather cools. In winter the landscape often features snow-capped peaks and lush greenery from the increased winter rains. The spring season in Tulbagh marks the gradual rise in temperature, with the Valley bursting to life with wildflowers.
Directions
- From Cape Town International Airport:
- Take the N1 outbound towards Paarl.
- Travel until you reach exit 47 and turn left onto the R44 signposted Stellenbosch/Klapmuts/Wellington.
- At the stop sign intersection, turn left onto the R44 toward Wellington and continue until you reach Wellington.
- At Wellington, turn left at a set of traffic lights onto Distillery St toward Porterville/Ceres.
- Carry on through Wellington and onto the R46, eventually reaching the Nuwekloof pass.
- 2.5km after exiting the Pass, turn left signposted Tulbagh.
- Take your first left, signposted Rhodes Food Group, and continue straight passing Montpellier on your left.
- At the stop sign, continue straight over the intersection onto the gravel road ahead. After another 2km, the Duikersdrift entrance will be on your left

- For a quick and smooth check-in, each adult in your party must complete and submit the indemnity form prior to arrival. Please visit www.duikersdrift.com/terms-and-conditions/#indemnity-form to access the form.
- For direct bookings paid via credit or debit card, and for bookings made via Booking.com, please submit a photo or scan (via email at [email protected] or WhatsApp at +27 (0)66 236 4122) of the front of the card used for payment, ensuring only the first 6 and last 4 digits are visible, along with a photo or scan of the cardholder’s ID or passport.
- Deposit payment is due upon receipt and is required to secure your booking.
- Outstanding balances must be paid one week (7 days) prior to arrival.
- If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total
- If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the booking total
- Bookings must be cancelled via email. If no cancellation notice is received, the booking will be considered a "no-show".
- No-shows will not be refunded.
- No refund is available for early departures.
- Postponement requests must be submitted a minimum of 7 days before the arrival date. Late requests will be subject to the standard cancellation policy and 100% of the booking total will be forfeited.
- Duikersdrift reserves the right to not refund card fees (transaction costs) in the case of any cancellation or situation where funds need to be reversed back to a credit card.
