*White River (Afrikaans: Witrivier) is a small holiday and farming town situated just north of Nelspruit in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Most farms in the region produce tropical fruits, vegetables, flowers, timber and more recently macadamias.

Whispering Thorns Guest Farm lies just before entering White River Town and is 35 kilometers away from the Kruger National Park. The farm is located in an area of considerable scenic beauty. The climate is said to be one of the best in South Africa, neither excessively hot in summer when rainfall is at its highest, nor overly cold during the sunny winters. The farm is 34 hectares and macadamias will be planted during the next two years.

Designed to make the most of its natural setting, this unique guest farm is set amongst spreading natural grassland and numerous thorn trees. Given this backdrop, the farm lends itself perfectly to large special occasions.
You can also take time to spot some small wildlife including impala & side striped jackal. Try some bird watching or simply relax alongside the pool in our manicured gardens.

Directions

  • Travel from Nelspruit to White River.
  • Farm 77, High road, AH, Extention 2, White River, Mpumalanga
  • From the last robot at the Riverside Mall to my turn-off it is +-15 km
  • Cross the robot in Rocky Drift
  • Pass the turn-off Plaston/KMIA
  • Carry on to White River. Keep to the right, 2,2 km from the
  • Plaston/KMIA sign on the way to White River you will have to turn right
  • See Touyz road and sign Ingwenyama Lodge/Igwala Gwala/Rottcher Wineries
  • Once you have turned right carry on straight, until the stop street in front of Waterberry Country Estate.
  • Turn right at the stop street onto the dirt road
  • +-500 meter on the left at a cement dam turn left
  • Carry straight on, pass the shed until the main house

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancelling 5 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.
  • If cancelling 10 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the booking total.

Conditions

Self check in 14:00 till 22:00 and check out time 10:00 , house rules, NO smoking, NO pet policy and NO furniture allowed to be moved between rooms or in room. NO parking in front of Guest house or on grass in front of Guest House.
