Villa Sefarina

Set high above a 2000-year-old forest of ancient milkwood trees on the slopes of Chapman's Peak, Villa Sefarina is a 7-bedroom, thatched hideaway that commands a mesmerising view across the world-famous sweep of Noordhoek beach, all the way to Kommetjie lighthouse in the far distance.

Sefarina, meaning West Wind, features a lofty perch with an inviting pool and an entertaining deck commanding 360-degree views. Private decks also lead off 6 of the sea-facing bedrooms, where quiet moments with a cup of coffee at dawn are a magical start to the day, as sunbirds and boubou shrikes bob from bush to bush.

Enjoying central heating throughout, the spacious multi-storey villa has cosy and individually decorated rooms with private bathrooms. Sirocco features an extra-length king-size bed that can convert to twin beds and a full en-suite bathroom, opening to a balcony overlooking the ocean. Opening to a balcony with a sea view, Alisio is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom. A guest bathroom is also available on the ground floor.

Comfortably furnished for 3, the Borasco suite, named after the Mediterranean wind, offers an extra-length king-size bed and a three-quarter bed with a full en-suite bathroom, opening to a balcony overlooking the ocean. With an ocean view from the balcony, Calima features an extra-length queen-size bed and a full en-suite bathroom. Enjoying shafts of glorious afternoon sunlight with beautiful views of the mountain through its arched windows under the thatch, Tuuli is furnished with a queen-size bed and has a shower-only en-suite bathroom.

Umoya opens to a balcony with sea views and features a comfortable queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Opening to a balcony, Mistral enjoys a sea view and features an extra-length queen-size bed and shower-only en-suite bathroom.

For added convenience, all rooms feature a Nespresso machine with a starter pack of 10 pods and hot water bottles, and all linen, bath, and beach towels are provided.

The lovely kitchen, leading off a spacious dining room, is compact, opening onto a dining deck, where hot days can be spent around the gas braai. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, electric oven, American-style fridge and freezer, tea and coffee-making facilities, an ice machine, and an air fryer. A dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer are also available, and a laundry service is available at an extra cost.

The communal lounge offers a TV with DStv, a DVD player, and Wi-Fi. The fireplaces may be used downstairs only, but the house is remarkably cosy in all weathers, and the first pack of wood is supplied. Guests also have access to an honesty bar, which is stocked with a selection of beverages.

Villa Sefarina is off-grid with an inverter and an 8-hour lithium battery backup, ensuring continuous Wi-Fi and power during outages. Guests have exclusive access via electric gates and the property is very secure with CCTV.

In addition to beautiful views, guests can access the path downhill to the beach directly via the boardwalk across the National Park, but please note that the last section is relatively steep.
