With a gas hob, electrical oven, extractor fan, microwave, prep bowl and a myriad of gorgeous granite surfaces you can run the gamut of cooking from a gourmet meal to a quick and easy toasted sandwich. And because we have staff to take care of you, there'll be no cleaning up afterwards.

But we do have a double basin, dishwasher and more to keep the place spic and span.

Area Info

Kleinmond lies on a lagoon at the small mouth - hence the name - of the Botriver on a narrow strip of land hugged on the one side by the Palmiet Mountain range and on the other by the Atlantic Ocean.

Kleinmond is within easy driving distance from Cape Town, along the scenic coastal road known as R44 or Clarence Drive, Kleinmond is a peaceful little village endowed with some of the coast’s most natural beauty. It lies within the UNESCO declared Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, which supports over 1600 species of fynbos, of which 150 are endemic.

The biosphere also has three areas of relic indigenous forest; similar to the celebrated Knysna forests, and provides nature lovers with numerous hikes offering solitude and remarkably unspoilt stretches of wilderness with rugged kloofs, valleys and several mountain peaks. One might catch sight of the rare Strawberry Rain Frog, March Rose proteas, exotic birds - particularly in the wetlands of the lagoon - otters or even a leopard, if one is lucky.

Despite its beauty and relative peacefulness, Kleinmond is the largest of the four coastal towns that fall within the biosphere and as such, serves as a commercial centre for the Hangklip-Kleinmond area. Traditionally a retirement village, the town comes alive during holiday season and is renowned for large numbers of lobster in summer and whale watching in winter.

Visitors to Kleinmond have access to safe swimming in lagoons, walking, hiking, bird watching, a black water river, caves and exciting rocky tidal pools; there is even a golf course for avid followers of the sport. The beach here, although not great for swimming, is perfect for fishing.

Kleinmond is reputed to be home to the country’s only herd of wild horses that live in the wetland close to the mouth of the Bot River. They are said to have been abandoned by a British garrison after World War II and roam the flats and river estuary as they please. A little further along the coast, in Bettys Bay, is the Harold Porter Botanical Garden - a beautiful and secluded garden of some 10 hectares that represent the local environment by including elements of wetland, fynbos, forest and coastal vegetation and is really worth a visit.

Hermanus, where some of the world’s best land-based whale watching is possible, is only 20 minutes’ drive from Kleinmond. Adventure, in the form of abseiling, climbing, dune surfing or river rafting is all part of the enjoyment of staying in this delightful little town.

  • BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  • CONDITIONS: Acceptance of these terms serve as a binding contract between the Guest and the Lessor and shall be entered into on SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES receiving your full accommodation payment together with with all supporting documents and the Guest taking occupation of the Holiday Home. SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES undertakes to describe and present the accommodation as best as possible, but cannot be held responsible should you not be satisfied. The parties acknowledge that should the Guest not have viewed the property and has leased it sight unseen, the Guest shall have no claims whatsoever against the Lessor or SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES for any defects in the property of which he would have been aware if he/she had viewed the property prior to the date of this lease commencing; nor for the fact that upon eventual viewing and/or occupation of the property, he/she may be unhappy about the location thereof or any external or internal attribute or appearance of the property.
  • In the unlikely event that we cannot provide you with the property stipulated in this agreement, limited to situations that render the house uninhabitable, we reserve the right to transfer you to a property of comparable standard. Failing this, we will cancel the booking and refund the total amount paid. Furthermore, we will not be held liable for any cancellation charges for travel arrangements.
  • TERMS: Prices stated are for direct EFT and credit card payments.
  • a) Reservations shall only be confirmed by SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES on full payment being received and receipt of the completed Booking Form together with all supporting documentation.
  • b) The inventory deposit shall be retained by SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES, on behalf of the Lessor, until the expiration of this lease agreement and the vacating of the premises by the Guest and an inspection. The balance of the deposit, less any amounts deductible for breakages, shall be refunded to the Guest after 7 working days and not later than 14 working days after termination of the lease. Payment will be by cheque or direct deposit into the Guest’s banking account or refund to Credit Card.
  • c) Should any booking be made 30 days or less prior to the arrival date, then the full accommodation amount and any other costs, shall be due and immediately payable to SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES in order to confirm the booking.
  • d) Should any booking be made 30 days or more in advance to the arrival date, then 50% of the accommodation amount shall be due and immediately payable to SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES in order to confirm the booking.
  • CANCELLATIONS:
  • Any cancellation made by the Guest, for whatever reason, shall first be made in writing. On receipt of such notice SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES will endeavour to re-let the holiday home for the entire period of the original booking. There shall be no obligation on the agent or the Lessor to obtain replacement tenants in the event of the Guest cancelling the booking.
  • a) Should SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES re-let the holiday home when full payment has been made, payment is refundable.
  • b) If SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES is unable to re-let the accommodation when full payment has been made, the full payment will be lost, but the inventory deposit will be refunded.
  • c) If booking is cancelled 30 days or less before date of arrival – 100% OF FULL RENTAL IS PAYMENT DUE
  • ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE:
  • a) NO ANIMALS, BIRDS or REPTILES are allowed without prior written permission, no exemptions will be made.
  • b) The Guest will be met by a representative of SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES, by prior arrangement, and taken to the property.
  • c) The Guest must insure that the windows are closed and the doors locked when the premises are unattended, and that any

  • d) A day is reckoned from 10am on the day till 10am the following day.
  • e) Weekend bookings run from14h00 on the Friday to 10h00 on the Sunday. Minimum booking period 2 days.
  • f) Weekly bookings upwards run from 14h00 on the day of arrival to 10h00 on the day of departure. Otherwise by prior
  • arrangement. Main holiday season from seven days to three weeks.

  • g) If the Guest has paid per Credit Card, the card used to pay for this booking must be present on arrival and the representative of SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES, will take a physical imprint of the card. Should the card not be present, then entry may be refused and the booking cancelled on the sole discretion of the representative of SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES.
  • DEPARTURE:
  • Keys to be left by arrangement, or returned to the SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES representative.
  • Check out time is strictly 10h00.
  • INVENTORY:
  • Each property has an inventory list which must be checked on arrival. Any discrepancies must be reported within 24 hours.   • The Lessor and/or SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES shall not be liable for any injury or loss or damages of any description which the Guest or any members of the Guest’s family, or servant or any employee or relative, friend or acquaintance, visitor, invitee or guest of the Guest may sustain directly or indirectly in or about the premises arising from any cause whatsoever. The Guest hereby accepts responsibility for, and indemnifies the Owner, his employees, servants or agents against, any claims for injury, loss or damage caused to any such person.
  • The Lessor undertakes to provide the home in the standard in which it has been presented. Furthermore, the Lessor will ensure that all necessary equipment is in working order. Should there be any problems relating to any equipment not working properly, including any maintenance related issues with plumbing, electrical or building defects during the current tenancy of the property, the Lessor undertakes to have it repaired at the earliest convenience. The Lessor and/or SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES shall not be liable for any of the Guest's costs and/or expenses in regard to vacating the premises and in regard to finding alternative accommodation whilst such repairs are being carried out.
  • SPATALLA HOLIDAY HOMES reserves all rights to refuse any booking at any stage of the booking procedure.
