Seeplaas is a sophisticated coastal hideaway set along the Garden Route that is often called the jewel of the Southern Cape, situated near the small town of Grootbrakrivier. A 180-degree sea view welcomes every guest to experience the natural marine life that the bay has to offer. Statistically, we have one of the best views for whale watching in the world and are often visited by dolphins in the area.

Great Brak River village, which nestles in a perfect Garden Route setting situated midway between George (30 km) and Mossel Bay (27 km). Sweeping panoramic views complement the outstanding characteristics of this jewel of the Southern Cape. The beautiful, unspoiled beaches in the area, and the lagoon, offer safe swimming. The presence of Southern Right and other whales from May till November is one of the town’s main attractions.

The area is yet to be discovered by tourists. There is an Art route, several Cycling and Hiking routes, the Fragrance route (lavender planted in local gardens) and a Historic route. The community is alive with cultural activities, musical events and art in all its forms. It’s a tourist’s paradise. It also offers great accommodation for the tourist, with plenty of sporting and leisure activities, real estate for the buyer and great opportunity for the serious businessman.

Directions

  • Directions from George Airport:
  • From the airport merge onto the N2 in the direction of Mosselbay / Cape Town. Continue with the N2, past
  • Glentana and you will next come to exit 409 to the N2 (national road no. 2) to go towards R102/Groot-Brakrivier.
  • Turn left on the bridge.
  • At the circle, take the second exit onto the R102 (regional road no. 102)
  • Continue with the R102 for about 5 km's, you will see the Seeplaas sign on your left. Turn left, go over the railway tracks and turn right at the "Seeplaas" sign. Follow the gravel road for about 1km and you will arrive at Seeplaas.
