The first establishment (Magic Retreat) is a 4-bedroom, self-catering, luxury home that is located on the 7th tee box of the iconic Pezula Championship Golf Course in Knysna, Western Cape.
Launched in 2021, this elegantly furnished & spacious property offers guests a home away from home. The house can sleep 8 adults and includes a fully-equipped kitchen, outdoor social/braai area, 4.5 bathrooms, 2 lounges, a dining area and more! We have recently installed an inverter system offering 24/7 Wi-Fi, TV & some lights during power outages.
The second property is Pezula Magic Escape, a boutique guest house that offers a truly unique and opulent getaway experience. It is complete with 6 units; 2 fully self-catering apartments, 2 deluxe bedrooms and 2 luxury semi self-catering suites all of which are en-suite. Each establishment offers an accommodation experience like no other with every detail tastefully considered and provided.
We have recently installed a new 20KVA inverter system & gas geysers offering 24/7 Wi-Fi, hot water, TV, lights, & some appliances during power outages.

- There is an array of activities available on the estate including golf, hiking, cycling and tennis. Guests have free access to the Pezula estate tennis courts and jungle gyms for kids (you will need to bring your own equipment, rackets & tennis balls). Guests are permitted to walk on the golf course before 7AM and after 7PM.
Area Info
Pezula Magic is just a short distance from The Knysna Heads where guests can enjoy quaint beaches and vibey restaurants with stunning views of the lagoon. Knysna's CBD is a 15min drive from the house and offers guests an array of restaurants, and boutique clothing stores as well as Woolworths, Food Lover's Market, Spar, Pick & Pay, Clicks & Dischem.
Known as one of South Africa's most beautiful Garden Route tourist towns, Knysna has so much to offer. From boat cruises on the lagoon, hiking and bike trails, horseback riding, 3 fantastic golf courses (Pezula, Knysna Golf Club & Simola) indigenous forests and beaches to boutique shopping stores, amazing drink and dining experiences right on the water. Knysna boasts some of the best weather in the world. It is moderate throughout the year with stunningly warm summers and mild winters. The nearest airport is Plettenberg Bay Airport (21 km from the accommodation) and George Airport (65 km from the accommodation).
Directions
- Directions from George Airport:
- Turn right out of the airport onto the R404 which will take you directly to the N2 highway on-ramp.
- Turn left onto the N2 and continue on it for about an hour passing through Wilderness, Sedgefield and then around the scenic lagoon road and into Knysna.
- Continue straight along the main road through Knysna where you will pass the Provincial Hospital on your left.

- Directions from George Airport:
- Turn right out of the airport onto the R404 which will take you directly to the N2 highway on-ramp.
- Turn left onto the N2 and continue on it for about an hour passing through Wilderness, Sedgefield and then around the scenic lagoon road and into Knysna.
- Continue straight along the main road through Knysna where you will pass the Provincial Hospital on your left.
- Look out for a Caltex Petrol Station on your right and then soon after you pass it, turn right into George Rex Drive.
- Continue straight on George Rex Drive until you see the Knysna Golf Club course on your left then Immediately after, turn left into Wilson Street and continue up to a large circle.
- Take the 3rd exit (right) into Duthie Drive which will take you all the way up a large hill and once you reach the top you will see the main security hut on your right-hand side where you will be provided access to the estate as explained in the house rules.
- Once you are done at security then continue on Duthie Drive which then becomes Lagoon View Drive and pass the Pezula Hotel & Spa and then the Club House on your right.
- Turn left into Commodore Close and once you are through the boom then Pezula Magic Retreat will be the first home on your left
- Directions from Cape Town (N2):
- Take the N2 highway out of Cape Town and continue on it for about 500km (roughly 6 hours) passing through Somerset West, Caledon, Swellendam and Heidelberg.
- As you approach Mosselbay, be mindful to take the small off-ramp to George before you drive into the main town.
- Once you pass through George then continue on for about an hour passing through Wilderness, Sedgefield and then around the scenic lagoon road and into Knysna.
- Continue straight along the main road through Knysna where you will pass the Provincial Hospital on your left.
- Look out for a Caltex Petrol Station on your right and then soon after you pass it, turn right into George Rex Drive.
- Continue straight on George Rex Drive until you see the Knysna Golf Club course on your left then Immediately after, turn left into Wilson Street and continue up to a large circle.

- Please note that the accommodation that has been booked is within Pezula Golf Estate. Please pay attention to the unit name in order for you to access directions to the accommodation that has been booked online. The unit booked is named according to the unit number and road name within the estate.

- Pezula is a closed high-security estate with regular patrols of the area.
- The speed limit on the estate is 40 km/hour, and in the interest of safety (children, residents & animals) this should not be exceeded.

- Smoking/vaping and the use of an incense, smoke producing or perfume producing devices are strictly prohibited inside our suites, apartments or the house. There are designated outdoor areas, decks & balconies for these activities.
- Pezula is a closed high-security estate with regular patrols of the area.
- The speed limit on the estate is 40 km/hour, and in the interest of safety (children, residents & animals) this should not be exceeded.
- No parties or events on the property/estate.
- No excessive noise past 10pm.
- Regret no pets.
- Please follow the host’s requirements for preventing baboons entering and damaging the properties. This will be communicated upon arrival.
- If any breakages or accidental spills occur, we ask that you please report the incident to the host or to housekeeping immediately.
- Walking on the Golf Course is permitted before 7AM and after 7PM. No bicycles allowed on the Golf Course.
- Estate Rules allow a maximum of 2 people per room at Magic Escape Guest House
- The cardholder & ID/Passport must be present at check-in.
- The credit card used for the online payment must be present at check-in. All bookings include 15% VAT
- We reserve the right to not refund bank costs upon cancellation for credit card bookings, as the bank does not credit initial deduction costs.
