Description
The Guest House is situated in a quiet street, very close to popular swimming beaches (Hobie- and Pollock beach), restaurants and all major Beachfront attractions. The Boardwalk Casino and entertainment complex is also within easy walking distance. We are on the main bus route and only 10 minutes away from the airport, the university and Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. For golf enthusiasts the only true links golf course is on our doorstep.

Water temperatures vary between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius during Summer and 14 to 19 degrees Celsius during Winter.
The sea conditions are generally calm in the bay, except when the South Easterly wind is blowing.
All beaches are patrolled by fully-trained professional life guards.
Apart from the more "mainstream" sports, a temperate climate, unspoilt beaches and the warm seawater make this city perfect for thrilling watersports opportunities.
Algoa Bay boasts 40 km of magnificent beaches and, with its perfect combination of warm water, calm sea and fair breezes, it is one of the best sailing venues in the world, and a mecca for all beach and watersports enthusiasts.
The Southern Beaches offer safe and sheltered swimming, body surfing, sunbathing, board sailing, excellent waves and surfing opportunities as well as interesting inter-tidal sea life while the Northern Beaches offer vast stretches of sand and dunes ideal for long beach walks as well as providing superb angling and swimming opportunities.

- From the N2:
- Follow the 'Settlers Way' (M4) to 'City' to 'Summerstrand' signs. Stay on the M4 all the way to the beachfront even if the name changes from Summerstrand M4 to Humewood M4. Travel along the beachfront and turn right into 6 th Avenue, just after the Marine Hotel (Protea). Margate Place Guest House is just up the road on the corner of Margate Street and 6 th Avenue.
- From the airport:
- Turn right into 'Alister Miller'. At the traffic lights turn right and follow 'La Roche' to the beachfront (McDonalds will be on the right hand side).
- Turn right into Marine Drive and travel along the beachfront. Turn right into 6 th Avenue just after the Marine Hotel (Protea). Margate Place Guest House is just up the road on the corner of Margate Street and 6 th Avenue

All guests confirming a booking are advised to take out insurance to cover the full cost of their accommodation in the event of a cancellation. We will seek compensation for any cancelled accommodation that cannot be re-let, including premature curtailment.
- Check-in time is from 14h00. Late arrivals (after 20h00) should be pre-arranged before 17h00.
- Check-out time is strictly 10h00, unless otherwise arranged.
- No persons other than those quoted for, are permitted to share the accommodation.
- Please note that as our staff have Christmas Day (25 December) & New Year's Day (01 January) off to spend with their families, we cannot accept bookings for check-in or check-out on these days.
- Dinner available on request.
