Lizard Rock is situated in the valley of Rhenosterkop, in the tranquillity of nature and freshwater mountain springs. This lovely property is approximately 9 km from Mbombela (Nelspruit) central and is ideally suited for overnight accommodation and a farm-style experience stay.
The 4 units are self-catering and have overnight facilities when travelling to places like the Botswana or Mozambique border. All of our units are fitted with double beds and en-suite bathrooms. All linen is provided.
There is a main area with a TV with DStv channels, a well-stocked bar, and a restaurant. Braai/BBQ facilities and breakfasts are available on request.
Mbombela (Nelspruit) has a sub-tropical climate and lush hills. It is the ideal place from which to explore Mpumalanga. The Lowveld Botanical Gardens are located just outside of the town and it boasts a rare collection of plant species. The Sudwala Caves, the Dinosaur Park, and the cultural core are nearby, allowing an educational experience.

Mbombela (Nelspruit) is situated in the fertile valley of the Crocodile River and acts as the gateway to Mpumalanga and the Kruger National Park.
The internationally acclaimed Kruger National Park is the biggest tourist attraction in Mpumalanga. As the largest reserve in South Africa, it covers 19 480 km² and is home to a diverse population of wildlife, including the Big 5, birding Big 6, and more species of mammals than any other African game reserve. Enjoy an unmatched safari experience with self-drives or guided tours. Excellent infrastructure includes picnic sites, rest camps, waterholes, and hides. Other popular Mpumalanga attractions include God’s Window, the Three Rondavels, and Bourke’s Luck Potholes.
Nelspruit, officially renamed Mbombela, is the capital of Mpumalanga and has something for everyone. Nature lovers will love an amble through the Lowveld Botanical Garden, which boasts a rare collection of over 650 plant species, the first man-made rain forest, and a tranquil pool where the Crocodile River meets the Nels River (which cascades down a waterfall in the west). The mountains surrounding Nelspruit have fantastic hiking trails for all levels of fitness. Nelspruit Nature Reserve offers several walks between one and six hours. Enjoy indigenous vegetation and a variety of birds and small antelope along the easy-going Green Heritage Hiking Trail; or discover interesting facts about Nelspruit's past along the Nelspruit Historical Walking Trail.
Nelspruit Golf Course is the busiest in the region and offers excellent opportunities to not only score birdies but also spot a variety of birdlife. Mbombela Stadium is an excellent venue for sports matches, live entertainment, and exhibitions, so keep a lookout for what’s happening while you’re in the region.

- Continue straight to stay on R538 for 750 meters.
- Turn right onto R104 (Toll Road) and continue for 9.4 km.
- At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto R538 for 10.6 km.

- Turn right onto R104 (Toll Road) and continue for 9.4 km.
- Turn left onto Dr Enos Mabuza Dr and continue for 4.1 km.
- Turn Slight left toward Ferreira St and continue for 75 m.
- Keep following Ferreira Street until you get to the Steiltes Circle.
- Pass straight through the traffic circle.
- 5 km onwards you will get a big, orange hi-tech, security sign with a green number 6 bord on your right-hand side.
- Turn right and follow the tar road for 1 km. It becomes a gravel road.
- Turn left at the second turn-off onto the homemade tar road.
- Approximately 20 m on your left-hand side is Lizard Rock at Renosterkop 6, Nelspruit.
