- Kievits Kroon is situated in the Dinokeng area, which is the north-eastern quadrant of Gauteng province. Dinokeng, with its close proximity to Pretoria and Johannesburg, offers visitors a variety of exciting experiences, ranging from adrenalin activities, to game drives and a trip down a diamond mine.
- Visit the Roodeplaat Dam Nature Reserve, Lesedi Cultural Village or Kruger House Museum or take a township tour. Enjoy game viewing on horseback, experience a shebeen tour, go mountain biking, hot air ballooning or micro-lighting, or play paint ball.
- The quaint Victorian village of Cullinan – where the world’s largest diamond was found – is a 20 minute drive away and features clusters of original miners’ stone cottages, a turn-of-the-century station and authentic trading centre buildings. Area Info
Kievits Kroon is a 16 hectare upmarket country estate in Pretoria, Gauteng, with superb leisure and conferencing facilities. Built in 1997, the estate once had a chapel and was a popular wedding venue, but the chapel has now been converted to a conference venue. A number of buildings razed in a fire in 2000 have been rebuilt.
The estate houses a 142 room hotel with a library bar, two restaurants, a well-stocked wine cellar, a wellness spa with superb thermae facilities, an outdoor lap pool and bar, a Conference Centre, Business Centre and banqueting venue.
Directions
- From Johannesburg or Pretoria:
- Travel on the N1 north towards Polokwane until you reach exit 152: Sefako Makgatho / Cullinan / Wonderboom.
- Take exit 152 at the Zambezi toll gate, turn right at the end of the off-ramp into Sefako Makgatho Drive.
- Travel 200 m and cross the first traffic light, continue for 1.2 km and cross the second traffic light.
- Continue for 700 m to the traffic light and turn left into Kameeldrift Road. You will see the Chinese Mall on your left.
- Continue for 4 km, past Die Poort School on the left and Engen and a church on your right.
- Turn right at the Kievits Kroon sign on the dirt road.
- The estate is 500 m down the road on the right hand side.
- From OR Tambo International Airport take the R21 north towards Pretoria.
- Take the N1 north off-ramp towards Polokwane.
- Pass Pretoria / Witbank and Stormvoël off-ramps.
- After Stormvoël off-ramp, take Zambezi Road / Sefako Makgato (exit 152 off-ramp). From there follow directions as above.
- GPS Coordinates: S 25° 39' 39' E 28° 19' 18'
- The closest Gautrain station is Hatfield. Should you require transfers from the station to Kievits Kroon, we will gladly assist to arrange transfers through a professional passenger transport company, the cost of which you can settle directly.
