At Cape Capsules, we warmly invite you to immerse yourself in the Muizenberg experience, nestled in our charming bohemian seaside village.

Discover the allure of our beach, ideal for both surfers and swimmers, located just across from East Beach, famously known as Kitesurfer’s Paradise. A short 5-minute walk will lead you to Surfers Corner, where you can explore vibrant pubs, clubs, and restaurants. Alternatively, enjoy a leisurely stroll to St. James Tidal Pool, or venture further into Kalk Bay to savour Cape Town’s cuisine, art, and a treasure trove of thrift shops.

We offer breakfast, sandwiches, and delightful pizza nights exclusively for our guests, including vegan options, right here on our premises. Relax in the cosy comfort of our communal spaces, perfect for work or relaxation. Alternatively, you can prepare your own meals in the self-catering kitchen. Perhaps treat yourself to a splendid coffee with freshly baked muffins or the Cake of the Day in our dining room.

At Cape Capsules, we offer rentals of surfboards, wetsuits, and mountain bicycles. You’re sure to find a friendly face to chat with or simply unwind to some good music.

Our Cape Capsules Backpackers provides secure and comfortable sleeping arrangements, whether you prefer a capsule or a room. Dorm 1, UNDER THE SEA, features 4 Standard Single Capsules and 2 Basic Extra-length Capsules. The Standard Single Capsules come with a single mattress, all your linen, a duvet cover, pillow, and towel. Inside your capsule, you’ll find USB port plugs, an electronic safe, hangers, and a welcome coffee/tea pack. Each capsule is lockable and includes an additional locker. Two of the capsules are accessed via a ladder.

The Basic Extra-length Capsules offer additional space for taller guests, complete with all necessary linen, a duvet cover, pillow, and towel. You’ll find USB port plugs, an electronic safe, hangers for clothing, and electric cooling fans. These capsules are all lockable with additional lockers. Capsule 5 is accessed by a ladder.

Dorm 2, OCEAN VIBES, comprises 4 Economy Double Capsules, including Capsules 9 & 10. Capsules 7 & 8 are suitable for one large person, featuring three-quarter mattresses. All necessary linen, duvet covers, pillows, and two towels are provided. Inside, you’ll find USB port plugs, an electronic safe, and hangers. Each capsule is lockable and comes with a locker. Two capsules, numbered 7 and 8, are accessed via a ladder. All capsules share bathroom facilities.

The Family Room, also known as the Octopus Room, is perfect for families or friends bunking together. This room offers excellent sleeping arrangements and a private exit to the back terrace. Equipped with all linen, duvets, extra blankets for winter, and towels, the room also features ample plugs for electronic equipment, an electronic safe, and a hairdryer.

All rooms utilise shared bathrooms, with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, earbuds, toilet paper, and complimentary condoms provided. We anticipate adding an en-suite bathroom to this room by the end of November 2024; please check with us for updates.

Our backpackers feature a communal kitchen equipped with an air fryer and two fridges. The lounge includes a TV with Netflix and an after-hours honesty bar offering drinks and snacks. Coffee and tea are available 24 hours at the Honesty Bar. Wi-Fi is accessible throughout, and communal braai facilities are available. Guests can enquire about our laundry service and visit the tour desk for local information.

Please note, no eating or smoking is allowed within the rooms, capsules, and building. Designated smoking areas are outside and 420 friendly.
