Ashbourne House Guest House offers guests a choice of luxuriously appointed air-conditioned rooms and suites, each with its own entrance and a private patio or balcony. Furnished with comfortable beds, the rooms and suites have private bathrooms with hairdryers and heated towel rails. Air-conditioned, the units are all equipped with TVs with Showmax, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee facilities and safes.
There is a spacious and supremely comfortable guest sitting room with a stone fireplace and double doors leading from this room to a shady veranda. The sophisticated décor of the house reflects the period elegance of its past combined with modern contemporary design.

Ashbourne House Guest House is situated on a quiet corner in the heart of the village of Franschhoek, known as the food and wine capital of South Africa and is within 6 km of various restaurants and wine farms and estates.
The guesthouse is located 1 km from Huguenot Memorial Monument, 8 km from Berg River Dam and Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve, 13 km from Franschhoek Motor Museum (by appointment only), 28 km from Exotic Animal World (Previously Butterfly World) and 70 km from Cape Town International Airport.
Directions
- From Cape Town International Airport:
- Head south on Airport Ring Rd for a distance of 950 meters.
- Take a slight left toward Airport Approach Rd and continue straight onto Airport Approach Rd for 180 meters, followed by an additional 190 meters.
- Proceed to the Borcherds Quarry Road/M22 ramp, which leads to M18/Nyanga/M10/Bellville. Drive for 290 meters.
- Keep to the right at the fork in the road to continue toward Borcherds Quarry Rd/M22 and then turn right onto Borcherds Quarry Rd/M22, covering a distance of 1.2 kilometers.
- Merge into the left lane to join Settlers Way/N2 via the ramp to Somerset. Continue for 800 meters.
- Follow the route by taking Kuils River Rd/R300 and N1, which will lead you to the R44. Take exit 47 from N1. The estimated travel time for this segment is approximately 26 minutes, spanning a distance of 39.6 kilometers.
- Merge onto Settlers Way/N2 and drive for 3.2 kilometers. Take exit 22A toward R300/Bellville.
- Merge onto Kuils River Rd/R300 and continue for 13.1 kilometers.
- Use any available lane to merge onto N1, heading towards Paarl/Worcester. Drive for 20.6 kilometers.
- Take exit 47 for R44 toward Stellenbosch/R101/Klapmuts/Wellington, covering a distance of 350 meters.
- Follow the road signs for Klapmuts - Simondium Rd and R45, driving for approximately 26 minutes over a distance of 27.9 kilometers.
- Upon reaching R44, turn right and drive for 1.1 kilometers.
- Make a left turn onto Klapmuts - Simondium Rd and continue for 8.6 kilometers.
- Turn right onto Franschhoek Rd/R45 and stay on this road for the next 17.9 kilometers.
- Afterward, turn left onto Uitkyk St, covering a short distance of 240 meters.
- Finally, make a right turn onto Huguenot St. Your destination, located at 47 Huguenot St, is just 81 meters ahead.

- The cardholder & ID/Passport must be present at check-in.
- The credit card used for the online payment must be present at check-in
- Check-in from 14h30 to 18h00.
- Check-out at 10h30.
- An additional 1% levy will be charged on all bookings, upon arrival.
- Changes to dates booked only at management's discretion and if alternative dates are available. An administration charge of R100 will be made.
- When booking Ashbourne House as a unit, a damage deposit of R2500 is required. The host charges this 14 days before arrival. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed within 7 days of check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full by bank transfer, subject to an inspection of the property.
