Purchase from the Harbour
To ensure that you are buying crayfish legally, it’s recommended to purchase them directly from the harbour. The harbour is the primary location where licensed crayfish fishermen and suppliers sell their catch, and they will have the necessary permits and licenses to operate legally.

Ask to See their Crayfish License
When purchasing crayfish from any supplier, whether at the harbour or elsewhere, always ask to see their crayfish license. A valid license is a clear indication that the supplier is operating legally and has the necessary permissions to sell crayfish.

If a supplier is unable or unwilling to provide a valid license, rather avoid purchasing from them and go visit Die Koelkamers instead.
