Description

Woodall is a beautiful property, situated on a peaceful citrus farm, only 65km from Port Elizabeth and adjacent to the malaria free Addo Elephant Park. It is ideally suited for nature lovers, food and wine connoisseurs, as well as those seeking time out in the spa. A special feature is the beautiful garden which is alive with birds.

The décor is chic, colourful and contemporary. Accommodation is private with exceptionally large rooms, especially the suites which have their own gardens and pools.

One of the highlights of Woodall is the local cuisine, for which it is renowned. The chefs draw their inspiration from the flavours of local ingredients and freshly picked produce grown on the property. The restaurant with its open deck area is situated over a lake teeming with birds and waterfowl  one of the best birding spots in the area.

The Citrus Spa offers a unique range of treatments and massages, inspired by the surrounding lemon, orange and grapefruit orchards. Facilities include a steam shower, sauna, vichy shower and hydrotherapy bath. A gym is available on the property.

Woodall’s private safari vehicle departs daily to Addo Elephant Park, treating guests to an up close and personal game viewing experience. Day excursions to nearby game reserves are easily arranged.

The property is owner run and the locally recruited staff offer excellent, friendly, and attentive service. Woodall is very involved in the upliftment of the local community and have a number of economic and social initiatives in place.

*Addo lies in the beautiful Sundays River Valley, stretching from the Indian Ocean to the Zuurberg Mountains.

This malaria-free area enjoys a temperate to warm climate with an annual rainfall of 450 mm occurring evenly throughout the year.

Summers are hot and sunshine days are plentiful, with a chill in the valley during wintertime.

*The Sundays River Valley is home to the famous Addo elephants that once roamed the area freely, as well as mile after mile of evergreen citrus trees that bear fruit all winter and fragrance the air with their blossoms in spring.

This area is world-renowned for its citrus fruit production and is South Africa's largest producer of lemons.

*Situated just over 45 minutes drive from Port Elizabeth, this magnificently diverse area offers a wide variety of wildlife experiences, natural landscapes, outdoor adventure and cultural experiences.

Over a million hectares of land have now been devoted to wildlife and many world-famous reserves such as Shamwari and Schotia can also be found here

Directions

  • RECOMMENDED ROUTE
  • (Do not use R336 via Motherwell)
  • About 112km / 80 min drive from PE airport
  • From Port Elizabeth take M4/ N2 North, past Colchester/Sundays River Mouth, in the direction of Grahamstown
  • After about 60km you’ll reach Nanaga, where the road splits into three: N10, N2 and R72 – (Tip: Make a stop at the Nanaga Farm Stall – one of South Africa’s most famous farm stalls, well known for their legendary pies and roosterbrood)
  • Continue northwards on the N10 for 21 km to Paterson
  • At Paterson turn onto the R342 in the direction of Addo. (Tip: A large section of this road has the Elephant National Park on either side – big game can often be seen)
  • Continue for 23km and pass the main entrance to Addo Elephant National Park on your left
  • Continue for a further 8 km (the road is now called the R335)
  • Turn right off the R335 at the Elephant House / Lenmore onto a gravel road and then turn immediately (40m) right again in front of Elephant House
  • Continue for 1.2km to Woodall Country House & Spa

  • If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
  • If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.
  • If cancelling 60 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.
  • If cancelling 365 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
