Our generously riverside self-catering cottages boast stunning mountain views and come fully furnished. The serene atmosphere and natural splendor both inside and outside. The accommodation ensure a memorable visit.

The cottages are thoughtfully laid out and tastefully adorned, enhancing your overall experience. Enveloped by lush foliage, an outdoor BBQ area and spacious patios offer added comfort. And nothing beats soaking in a Wood-fired Hot Tub, making it an ideal year-round relaxation spot for both summer and winter stays.

We’re thrilled to announce that our property is grid-tied, harnessing the power of solar energy and batteries. However, in the event of a two-day outage from Eskom and no sunlight, we may experience a power shortfall. Nonetheless, we’re delighted with the progress and reliability of our transition so far.

The property features a single communal pool, resembling more of a natural pond with water freely flowing in from the river and then back out again. It’s ideal for cooling off during the hot summer months or using as a refreshing cold plunge to soothe sore muscles.

Area Info

Tulbagh, named after Dutch Cape Colony Governor Ryk Tulbagh, is a town located in the "Land van Waveren" mountain basin (also known as the Tulbagh basin),n the Winelands of the Western Cape, South Africa. The basin is fringed on three sides by mountains, and is drained by the Klein Berg River and its tributaries.

The property derived its name, Mont Rouge, from the reddish hue of the earth in this region—Mont meaning mountain and Rouge meaning red

  • Approximately 5 km from Tulbagh Winery -take the turn off to your right on the Misgund road, keep left for another 2km.
  • Mont Rouge is on your left-hand side!

  • The cardholder & ID/Passport must be present at check-in.
  • The credit card used for the online payment must be present at check-in.
  • We reserve the right to not refund bank costs upon cancellation for credit card bookings, as the bank does not credit initial deduction costs.
  • To secure your booking a DEPOSIT PAYMENT IMMEDIATELY UPON BOOKING
  • Must email the Proof of Payment to [email protected]
  • THE FINAL PAYMENT: Any outstanding balances must be paid 7 days before your arrival (please set yourself a reminder for this final payment, it is your responsibility to make the payment on time)
  • ONLINE CHECK-IN
  • We will send an email for online registration check-in a few days before your arrival.
  • CHECK-IN ONLY FORM 15:00.
  • KEYS AND DIRECTIONS: Keys are left at the cottage in a Key Safe. You go directly to your cottages. The directions and key safe code will be sent to you via WhatApp or email and ONLY when all admin and online check-in is completed.
  • CHECK-OUT IS @ 10:00 AM Please vacate your cottage on time of final check out (unless otherwise arranged)
  • DAMAGE AND BREAKAGE
  • We are sure that you will take care whilst you stay with us, and we acknwledge that accidents sometimes happen. We do however reserve the right to invouce you for any damage or breakages which we consider to be deliberately or recklessly caused, for any item discoverd missing after you depart or for the cost of the room for any period for which it is considered unusable due to damage.
