Hout Bay, known as the Heart of the Cape, is a captivating coastal suburb of Cape Town. Hout Bay enjoys a rural atmosphere surrounded by a cobalt-blue ocean, magnificent mountain ranges, and eclectic shops and restaurants.

Hout Bay’s prime attraction is the long stretch of beach popular among tourists, locals, and their furry companions. Although the water is chilly, the beach bustles with surfers, swimmers, bodyboarders, and sea kayakers. It is situated alongside one of the busiest harbours in the Western Cape, with an established tuna, snoek, and crayfish industry.

The harbour features the Hout Bay Yacht Club, which provides moorings for recreational, fishing, and sailing boats. Boat excursions are available to book at the harbour, offering trips to Duiker Island, Seal Island, and around the Sentinel. There are excellent restaurants to visit, including small takeaway outlets offering some of the freshest seafood in Hout Bay.

  • Continue straight to stay on Ring Rd for 350 m.
  • Use the left 2 lanes to stay on Ring Rd for 650 m.
  • Use the 2nd from the right lane to turn slightly left toward Airport Approach Rd for 180 m.
  • Use the right 2 lanes to merge onto Airport Approach Rd for 190 m.
  • Keep right to stay on Airport Approach Rd for 1.9 km.
  • Merge onto Settlers Way/N2 and continue for 10.2 km.
  • Take exit 6 for M3/Rhodes Drive toward Observatory/Muizenberg for 350 m.
  • Merge onto Rhodes Dr/M3 and drive for 2.0 km.
  • Use the middle lane to stay on Rhodes Dr/M3 and continue to follow M3 for 1.1 km.
  • Keep left to continue on Union Ave/M3 for 750 m.
  • Turn right onto Rhodes Ave/M63 and drive for 2.5 km.
  • Turn right onto Rhodes Dr/M63 and continue for 4.6 km.
  • At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Hout Bay Main Rd/M63 and drive for 5.5 km.
  • At the roundabout, continue straight onto Main Rd/M6 for 1.4 km.
  • At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Baviaanskloof Rd and continue for 800 m.
  • Turn right onto Lindevista Ln and drive for 180 m.
  • Turn right onto Berghof Ln and continue for 72 m.
  • Turn left onto Hugo Ave for 9 m.
  • Continue straight onto Ave Suzanne, and the destination will be on the right after 150 m at Snooze in Hout Bay, 16 Suzanne Avenue, Hout Bay.
