Lake St.
Lucia is Africa’s largest estuarine system located in St Lucia along the KwaZulu-Natal Coastline.
It is 80 kms longand 23 kms wide at its widest point.
Home to over 800 Hippos and 1200 crocodiles, this dynamic system hosts large flocks of pelicans, flamingos, ducks, waders and a variety of fish and other aquatic species.

- FROM JOHANNESBURG / GAUTENG
- Take the N2 to Ermelo / Piet Retief / Pongola
- At the offramp Ngoma, Hluhluwe, St Lucia turn left (R618) and follow the signs to St.Lucia 25 km - you will turn left again just before you enter the town Mtubatuba.
- Enter St Lucia via the bridge over the estuary
- At the T-junction turn right into Mc Kenzie street.
- The first road to turn left is Katonkel street, turn left into Katonkel Street, carry on straight until you get to the T-Junction at Katonkel and Pelican Streets.
- At the T-Junction, you will drive over the road straight into a pan handle driveway, the pan-handle driveway on the left.
- FROM DURBAN / INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT DURBAN (2 1/2 HOUR ROAD DRIVE)
- Take the N2 North direction Empangeni / Pongola
- Turn off at "Ngoma, Hluhluwe, St Lucia " R618
- Follow signs R618 St Lucia in an Easterly direction
- Enter St Lucia via the bridge over the estuary
- At the T-junction turn right into Mc Kenzie street.
- The first road to turn left is Katonkel street, turn left into Katonkel Street, carry on straight

- Take the N4 direction Maputo
- Enter Swaziland at the nearest border gate and leave at the Golela border gate
- Proceed at the N2 to Mtubatuba (direction Empangeni / Richards Bay) and turn off at Mtubatuba.
- Follow the R618 to St Lucia
- Enter St Lucia via the bridge over the estuary
